National Mathematics Day
National Mathematics Day is a chance for teachers to share and promote good mathematics teaching and learning -- with each other, with students, with colleagues and with the wider community.
| National Mathematics Day 2010 will be Friday 21 May |
In 2009, National Mathematics Day focussed on where our mathematics learning is going. AAMT launched a discussion paper addressing mathematics learning in (and for) the 21st century, and also highlighted the 'You Can Do Maths' campaign which has a central message about the importance of mathematics across a huge range of careers (with thanks to Kinetic Education for their support of this campaign). We also announced a competition for students to write a script to form the basis of the next stage in this community awareness campaign.
Although the day itself has now passed, you might still like to use some of the ideas and resources provided through the links below.
Please also take a few moments to tell us about your National Mathematics Day activities.
