Online Professional Learning

The Council of the AAMT will be developing a range of initiatives over the next 2-3 years to explore and enhance the ways the AAMT — and state and territory mathematics teacher associations — use online means for teacher professional learning.

The project will be overseen by AAMT Vice President Denise Neal. AAMT staff will be involved, but the most important group will be a 'working party' consisting of representatives of all the state and territory associations. This Working Party will commence its work in the first part of 2008. The aim is to conduct and evaluate a number of types of professional learning activities, with a view to building those that prove feasible and effective into the support provided to members.

There will be opportunities to be involved — watch the AAMT newsletter and website for details, or contact the AAMT Office.
