Structure of the Association
The Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers is a federation of 12 associations based in the states and territories. Each member of one of these associations is also a member of AAMT.
The AAMT Council is comprised of members representing these associations, together with an elected Executive (consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and alternately a President Elect or Immediate Past President). The Council meets annually (in January) to set directions for the Association, and the Executive is responsible for conducting the business of the Association between Council meetings.
The Council and Executive are all volunteers. They are assisted in managing the day to day affairs of the Association by a salaried office staff. More detailed information about how the Association operates can be found in its constitution and regulations.
Other groups and committees may be formed and meet as required.
