Navigations series
The books in the Navigations series (developed by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics in the USA) provide a stimulating combination of teacher-tested classroom materials and professional learning for teachers. The contents of each book are built around engaging classroom activities that promote effective learning for students and help teachers to reflect on the underlying mathematical and pedagogical principles. Blackline masters are provided as appropriate, and each book is accompanied by a CD-ROM which includes further reading for teachers, files for the blackline masters, and computer applications for students to use in their investigations.
The linkage of practical activities with pertinent readings and underlying principles makes this series an excellent resource for classroom teachers and students of teacher education at all levels.
Navigating through Mathematical Connections
Making connections in mathematics is a complex process of understanding and appreciating the interrelatedness of diverse topics and their applications to the everyday world and other academic disciplines.
Navigating through Number and Operations
Numbers and the operations that we perform with them are the starting points for all mathematics.
Navigating through Discrete Mathematics in Grades 6-12
